Wonder by P.J. Palacio
Why blend in when you were born to stand out?
Bashfulbookbee's book of the week this week is
Wonder by P.J. Palacio.
THIS BOOK is going to get a lot of attention this year because a movie from this book will be released in November. For several years the Librarian/Media Specialists of the school district I work in have had one book we shared throughout the district as an effort to provide collaboration throughout our curriculum. "WONDER" is going to be one of the greatest initiatives we have shared. Wonder is a book about a young boy who has a rare medical deformity, mandibulofacial dysostosis. This book shares the challenges, fears, anxieties that the young character face, but also the wins. He has a spirit of strength that brings out good in some hard to love personalities. I hope this book will inspire all students with challenges, whether it is physical challenges, emotional challenges or life challenges... to keep on looking for the strength to be the best they can be.
I do not have a doubt in the world that the movie is going to be GREAT...with the great line of actors it can't be anything but WONDERFUL.... but as any Librarian would tell you...IF you liked the movie... You will LOVE the Book~
Bashfulbook bee gives this book...5 BEES
