Welcome to the Bashful Book Bee Blog Spot
August of 2013 I started a new project to share books. Every week
the Bashful Book Bee brought book suggestions for children, educators, parents
and of course grandparents! I made an
attempt to collaborate an effort between myself the Queen Bee and her busy
bumble bees, my darling grands~ However, between all of our schedules,
sometimes I couldn’t consult my favorite audience… I stopped the blog a while
back, not sure it was something that was providing a benefit to those I hoped
to benefit…parents and teachers. After a
few months break I felt if only to benefit myself through the research efforts of
finding the best book to recommend weekly, that I needed to start again. This year I am going to try to recommend a
book, a new “app”, and finish with a fun teaching quote. I will use the blog, Facebook, and Twitter to
spread these ideas. I hope you will like and share these modes of communication
so I can share with several. You
can always email me at bashfulbookbee@gmail.com
with your comments, suggestions and ideas of needs in great book topics….My constant objective is to share
my joy of reading and the fun that can be found when you put books into the
hands of the children~
At the beginning of each New Year many people use the
time as an opportunity of reflection and evaluation. When evaluating myself, my heart often thinks
of children’s self-esteem which is a big challenge for today’s children… So
many children have esteem’s bigger than imaginableJ but I believe for the most part that many times our society wants
children to fit a specific mold. As my 3
oldest grand children range from pre-teen’s to high school, I see
worries in them for the approval of others.
Oh if only we could help our children to be happy with themselves.
- · This leads me to my “BEELOVED” book of the week which is “I like myself” by Karen Beaumont. This darling book’s young girl is perfectly content in her self-acceptance. If only we all could be as happy with ourselves~ Teachers will love this book and LOVE that a quick Google search will provide lot’s of teacher activities through various web sites and even ideas from Pinterest!
- · My “BEELOVED” app of the week is IMovie…. I found it following the recommendation from my nephew, and found it to be a great easy movie program. Adding Video, pictures and sound is a snap. And it’s free~
